Description
Dressing (from the English "dressing" - decorations) is a special sauce for salads.
For the first time, dressings appeared in North America in the 30s of the last century. But in the last decades of the 20th century, they became especially popular in Europe.
Dressings can be divided into two main types:
1. Light dressings based on a mixture of vegetable oils and vinegar for green and vegetable salads. The most common in this category are dressings based on balsamic vinegar and dressing with lemon and olive oil.
2. Thick dressings based on mayonnaise, cream, sour cream, yoghurt or buttermilk, which are used for salads with meat, poultry, fish, boiled vegetables. Here, an indisputable leader is considered to be dressing for Caesar salad.
